Beautiful house in a stunning location. Tastefully decorated, with comfy beds, big kitchen diner and comfortable living room with wood burner. A good location to get to areas to go sight seeing. We took in the Fairy Pools, Kilt Rock, Coral Beech, Fairy Glen and the Two Churches walk. You can get 4 seasons in one day but it adds to the beauty of the Island. The wandering sheep and the highland cows just make your day. Thank you for sharing your home away from home!

Stunningly Peaceful Cottage

We traveled to Scotland in August and were at Lagan Glas for 4-5 days. It was fabulous! Situated between several points of interest. Ample room for the 6 of us. The cottage was everything what I pictured it would be when we arrived and when we nestled in, we were thoroughly impressed with the updated interior. It was plenty comfortable; the kitchen was superbly equipped and we were able to cook salmon and trout we caught. We watched the sunset from the deck while listening to the sheep and nearby waterfall. A little slice of heaven. I as even able to accomplish some work early in the morning and send files via the WIFI/internet.

Stunning house, beautiful location.

A really lovely home - spotlessly clean, superbly equipped, tastefully decorated and with lots of thoughtful little extras. Views over the sea to the Outer Hebrides from the front window, a waterfall in the back garden and sheep visible from the kitchen window.
The village shop in Glendale is well stocked and I loved being able to run (or walk) to Neist point and many other amazing local viewpoints (try Milovaig, or the road south from Borrodale). Skye itself is stunningly beautiful and hardly needs a review on here - even in a windy week in December, there were plenty of tourists at the Storr, Quiraing, Glen Brittle, Claigan Beach, Fairy Glen etc. The drive from Loch Lomond to Skye is a real highlight too.

Unbelievable location, fantastic accommodation... brilliant holiday!

The moment that we arrived on the Isle of Skye we were totally blown away with the jaw dropping views en route to Lagan Glas, where we had booked a weeks stay. The accommodation was quite simply stunning ... immaculately clean, superbly decorated, well equipped and in a tranquil and stunning location. From this base, we were able to conveniently visit the rest of the island, going out on long walks, visiting the local castle, eating at the wonderful Three Chimneys restaurant and go on several boat trips. The local wild life was immense and like being in a David Attenborough documentary. The owners of the Croft have absolutely got it “spot on” by providing great customer service and making our stay memorable and really special. Undoubtedly we will return and a big thanks to Karen Clarke for arranging everything.

This is a stunning property in an equally stunning location. It's been refurbished to a very high standard hence the five stars awarded by the Scottish Tourist Board. Everything is of the finest quality from the hand made soap provided in the bathrooms to the wonderful bedroom linen and the superb quality of the bathroom fittings...we have settled in so nicely we even checked to see if the following week was still available...sadly it wasn't.

Fabulous, fabulous, 5 star accommodation

We recently spent a few days at this beautiful accommodation with the family. The place is exceptional with great attention to making the guest experience one to remember. From the moment you open the door into the fabulous, well equipped kitchen, you feel there is something special about this place with every room of the same high standard. Bedrooms and bathrooms are luxurious (with lovely toiletries) and beds are ultra comfy with lovely fresh bedding. The twin aspect stove fire between the kitchen and lounge makes the house feel cosy and welcoming. We experienced three days of snow blizzards during our stay, with roads too difficult to drive, so it was no hardship just to enjoy walks around the local area, looking forward to returning to Lagan Glas and the stove!! Lagan Glas is very deserving of it's 5 star rating and I would highly recommend a stay ... I guarantee that you will not want to leave. Thank Karen for letting us share your lovely home and also to Maggie .. the tablet didn't last the journey back to Glasgow, wonderful.

Simply stunning home

Just had a week in this most stunning home in a wonderful location. This place is a blue print for how a holiday home should be done. There is everything and more you require in this home with some wonderful thoughtful touches. Glendale is a stunning area on Skye in the northern part it is a great location and the house has fantastic views. The owner Karen is an excellent communicator and most helpful.

Superb cottage

This house is as good as the pictures, but was homely as well. Location in a small village with useful shop and cafe, There is also a community market on Tuesday's at the village hall for locally made gifts. We found it a good base for visiting some of the key sights in Skye. However, it takes longer than you think to get to places because of the long and windy roads. Even our fussy teenagers thought this place was lovely.

Wonderful Skye

We had a fantastic stay at Lagan Glas. What a beautiful spot with wonderful views. The house its self was first class, modern with all amenities. We would highly recommend this wonderful house.

Excellent cottage tucked away from the hordes

The cottage is easy to find although if you haven't visited Skye before, don't be surprised how far from the main road you have to travel to get here. We arrived to a smartly decorated, very well equipped home-from-home that was as good as promised. We found plenty of space for our stuff and enjoyed choosing rooms - no reason to feel you have drawn a short straw here. The quick stroll to the local shop and nearby café are a bonus given the reasonably remote location of Glendale. Otherwise be prepared to spend time in your car getting around.

Perfect, home finished to very high standard

Spent a great week in this house, its quite remote, but that's why we chose it. The house was fantastic, modern and comfortable on the inside and supplied with everything you could possibly want to live for a week.

The journey to Lagan Glas deserves a mention, the views are AMAZING..It feels like u driving in some magical land from the snowy mountain, sun beaming thru the trees and the sea in some areas. We arrived at Lagan Glas and WOW is a word that comes to mind 1st. Through the kitchen - fully kitted it's like a home away from home. All the best kitchen utensils u can think of, you can see the owners have thought of everything and everyone. You can juice, have fresh coffee, or cook from the range master a great meal.......... One of the best family weekends we've had. We definitely be back soon

A wonderful Home, on a beautiful Island, for the perfect Getaway

......We started our adventure from Glasgow and the scenery was simply breathtaking. The road takes you through Loch Lomond, Glen Coe, Glen Shiel, and Lochalsh and then courses its way over the Cuillen range in Skye. Simply stunning. After a long journey, we found our pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, Lagan Glas. Through the windy roads and the dramatic mountains we reached the small hamlet of Glen Dale where it is situated.........This review will never do Skye or Lagan Glas justice. It’s an insanely beautiful place: quiet, peaceful and serene. Scattered with bizarre but beautiful landscapes, Skye is now firmly in our top three destinations and we will definitely be booking Lagan Glas again in the months to come.

The House

The house has been in our family for over 100 years and in the lounge you will see a pictures of the previous owners. It has been recently refurbished to a high standard whilst still maintaining many of its best features. You will find a well stocked kitchen with a gas range cooker, a dining room and separate living room with a wood burning stove for cosy nights in. The utility room has a washing machine and tumble drier. Leading out from the dining room are patio doors to a decked area with seating to enjoy the beautiful views of the ocean and the glen. There is one king sized bedroom downstairs as well as a bathroom with shower. Upstairs there is a king sized bedroom and another bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with bath and shower facilities. There is a walled garden around the front of the house and at the rear there is a small, natural waterfall. Sheep roam freely around the property as they have done for generations.

The Glendale Estate

We are located on the North West coast of Skye in the Glendale Estate, situated a 15 minute drive from Dunvegan.

Close by is Three Chimneys, one of Scotland's most famous restaurants.  One of Skye’s highest cliff walks at Neist Point Lighthouse is also nearby.

In Glendale itself there is a post office and two very good cafes.
